Is Disabling Macrovision Copyguard Legal??

Macrovision  stops you from recording DVD movies onto your VCR.  According to Hollywood this is totally illegal ,unless you are the holder of the copyright of the DVD which you are recording  or it qualifies under the fair use clause of copyright laws  . When you rent a movie you are granted permission to watch it only and only for the period of the rental.  When you buy a movie your rights still only allow you to watch it. You are not allowed to disable macrovision to record the DVD    If you disable Macrovision in order to plug your  DVD player into a TV without AV jacks via your VCR , Macrovision says this is illegal  Of course macrovision has a just a bit of a biased opinion .  they made 50 million last year selling copy protection systems to studios so you could not record dvds or copy video tapes

Im sure that someone from Macrovision Corp will read this since it says Macrovision so many times. If what we have written about macrovision or copying dvds or recording dvds is not entirely correct please let us know. We wouldn't want people to copy dvds or record a dvd  since they arent  supposed to  be recording dvds. We cant have people running around copying dvds or recording dvds if they arent allowed to , It would just be mayhem if people disabled macrovision  and were all recording dvds to video tape. It is only fair that the studios charge 25 dollars for  a DVD that costs 50 cents to press, and that when your child scratches it you should have to pay another 25 dollars to get the same movie since you cant back it up. of course its also fair that Video stores charge 5 dollars for a rental dvd for one day.. That is equivalent to  a car rental company charging 4000 a day to rent a car ...seems fair to me
