Powerful Low Maintenance Hitachi CP-X809 LCD Projector Opens New Applications

Hitachi projector dramatically extends maintenance intervals while delivering exceptional 5000 lumens performance.

Hitachi Digital Media Group today announced the launch of the CP-X809 projector designed for installation in mid to large sized venues such as conference rooms and lecture theatres as well new application areas such as digital signage and public displays. While keeping the exceptional performance characteristics of its CP-X807 sibling, the new model dramatically reduces cost of ownership by eliminating costly maintenance cycles through the use of extremely long life components. The CP-X809 features a new hybrid filter that operates for at least 4000 hours under normal conditions, matching the lamp life of 4000 hours and enabling huge savings in maintenance costs over the lifetime of the projector.

“The launch of the CP-X809, demonstrates that Hitachi continues to innovate to meet customer demands for performance and low cost of ownership combined in an easy to use, highly specified package. The CP-X809 ticks all the boxes from rich, future-proofed networking and connectivity options to the long life components that mean the projector is maintenance free for at least 4000 hours of operation,” comments Axel Kutschke, Senior Manager, Presentation Products for Hitachi Digital Media Group. “This extended maintenance interval opens up the possibility for a host of new applications including public displays and digital signage that were previously not realistic because of maintenance costs.”

The new hybrid air filter reduces operating costs by delivering at least 4000 hours in normal operating conditions, which combines with the long life lamp and LCD panel to offer an almost “fit and forget” maintenance interval. The powerful network management software that helps to control, diagnose, monitor and manage projectors can also send an email alert to warn of impending maintenance needs, which is particularly important with such a long time between scheduled maintenance activity.

The 5000 Lumens capability of the CP-X809 means that users have great scope to project large but bright images in all environments. High quality XGA images are delivered with a contrast ratio of 1000:1 by the 0.8” 3LCD panel with an extended life of 10,000 hours under normal operating conditions. The Active Iris feature adjusts automatically to ensure the best image contrast and depth perspective for light or dark scenes. The day time mode also ensures vivid images in daylight conditions.

Hitachi has, as ever, ensured that usability and security are high on the list of benefits offered by the CP-X809. From new easier to use remote control to popular features like input source naming and resolution presets. The new template features allows patterns of lines to be projected onto blackboards and whiteboards to make writing easier. The projector also includes all the security features that make Hitachi projectors among the most secure on the market including a steel security bar, Kensington lock, transition detector pin code protection and the network detach alert.

Although the CP-X809 features a wired, RJ-45 network connection and capability for network presentation it is also available with the option of wireless networking which offers access to additional capability such as the wireless presentation facility. Accessing the projector across the network has now been made simple through the new easy connection feature allowing quick and secure passcode verification.

Flexible installation is assured with high quality, future-proof HDMI and BNC connectivity.  Composite, component, RGB, S-video and USB connections are also provided as well an SD card slot to facilitate additional features such as PC-Less presentation. A simple manual lens shift mechanism provides for fast and efficient installation in all situations while reducing weight and helping to improve reliability still further. Finally all venue sizes are provided for with a range of four optional lenses from wide to ultra long that cater for throw distances of 1.6m to 15.1m.
