Mitsubishi XD530U Wireless Projector Debuts

Wireless Connectivity Makes Set-Up Quick and Easy

IRVINE, Calif., June 18, 2008 — Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America’s Presentation Products Division, known for its award-winning, high-quality presentation and display products, has introduced its newest wireless projector, the XD530U. This XGA resolution (1024 x 768 pixels) projector is perfect for on-the-go presenters such as salespeople and teachers. For rooms with high ambient light, the XD530U blasts 3000 lumens of brightness. A center-lens design provides easy symmetrical set-up, and its instant shut-down feature makes this new projector easy to use in all types of environments.

“We’re offering a powerful combination of features for those sales reps and educators who need to set up and break down quickly and efficiently,” said Wayne Kozuki, product manager for Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America’s Presentation Products Division. “Adding high brightness and fabulous color reproduction makes the XD530U a great addition to a presenter’s toolbox.”
XD530U users can project wirelessly in four simple steps by downloading installation software from Mitsubishi’s website and following easy instructions. Like all projectors in Mitsubishi’s 500 series, the XD530U boasts Texas Instruments’ new DDP 2230 DMD chip with DLP® technology and the latest version of BrilliantColor™.

This combination, along with Mitsubishi’s implementation of its dynamic lamp power design, augments and improves overall color performance while keeping the total cost of ownership low. Additionally, Mitsubishi is offering a generous one-year or 500 hours limited warranty on the lamp, whichever comes first.

The XD530U is a filter-free projector with a center lens design and convenient top-loading lamp, making installation and lamp replacement simple and easy. Color wall support allows users to select a particular surface color including beige, blue, green, pink, blackboard or the new whiteboard setting that helps eliminate hotspots. Once the color is chosen, the projector automatically adjusts its output to create the best image possible for that background or base color surface, making set up in classrooms and conference rooms a breeze.

The new XD530U also boasts DVI™ support; users can project native digital signals in full high-definition resolution. Each projector in the new 500 family provides separate audio inputs for computer and video, dual computer inputs and a monitor loop through to maximize set up and installation options, as well as RS-232 for remote projector management. A splash screen, password protection and reinforced anti-theft security bar help create peace of mind for security-conscious users.

Each projector in the family has a six-segment color wheel (R, G, B, W, Y, C) that provides dazzling overall color, while its Color Enhancer2™ with dynamic lamp power design is an intelligent system that automatically adjusts light output for the most vibrant color performance for any slide or video scene.

“Our new 500U series of projectors gets more powerful all the time,” said James Chan, director of product marketing, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America’s Presentation Products Division. “We’re adding new models that broaden the line and better meet our customers’ needs. We’re proud to add a wireless projector to that line.”

Suggested Pricing, Availability, Warranty

Mitsubishi’s XD530U has a suggested retail price of $4,995 and is available this month. The projector comes with Mitsubishi’s three-year limited warranty on parts and labor, and a one-year or 500 hours limited warranty on the lamp, whichever comes first. Like all Mitsubishi data projectors, the new XD530U is covered by the Express Replacement Assistance (ERA) Program, a nationwide comprehensive service that offers next business-day replacement for down units that are under warranty.
