New Hitachi CP-SX635 ADDS true SXGA+ and vivid colour to maintenance free design for installation environments

Long life inorganic panel, 4000 lumen performance and 10-bit colour processing open up new application areas

Hitachi Digital Media Group today announced the launch of the CP-SX635 projector that is designed for installation in a wide range of environments. By combining true 1400x1050 SXGA+ resolution images and 10-bit colour processing with the latest virtually maintenance free design and components, the new model offers the very best in image quality, low total cost of ownership (TCO) and flexibility.

“With the launch of the CP-SX635, Hitachi again demonstrates that innovation is the key to improving performance and functionality while at the same time as driving total cost of ownership ever lower. Billions of colours and the increase in resolution to SXGA+ together with the Hitachi active iris producing a contrast ratio of 1000:1 mean that the CP-SX635 delivers exceptionally high quality images for a variety of applications,” said Axel Kutschke, Senior Manager, Presentation Products for Hitachi Digital Media Group. “The virtually maintenance free servicing, together with the powerful network features and flexible installation options mean that this model will be popular in traditional installation environments as well as new applications such as digital signage and public displays.”

In line with the drive to minimise TCO, the CP-SX635 features a hybrid filter with an expected service life of 4000 hours which matches up with the lamp to minimise service requirements, generating huge savings over the operating life of the projector. The filter also delivers environmental benefits in the form of less electronic waste and a reduced carbon footprint as a result of the reduced maintenance requirement. The highly responsive inorganic panel also has an exceptionally long lifecycle which further extends the useful life of the projector and opens up many new application areas that require quality and longevity. These applications include rear projection systems where the free network control and management software with the CP-SX635 allows for easy remote management of projectors integrated in such environments.

The upgrade to 10-bit colour processing means that the projector can display up to 1.07 billion  colours to produce stunning images befitting the ultra high SGX+ resolution. The inorganic panel not only offers bright, colourful performance as only LCD technology can, but also ensures exceptionally long life. The high contrast image is delivered by the active iris feature which adjusts automatically to ensure the best image contrast and depth perspective for light or dark scenes.

Full lens compatibility with the existing models means that customers can take advantage of the latest, maintenance free projectors while preserving investments in their existing optional lenses. This ensures these models can be used as highly affordable installation projectors in a wide range of environments. Continuing the protected investment theme, HDMI connectivity ensures the projector is compatible with the latest in digital media formats and inputs, while the BNC connector provides the highest quality option for the professional installer.

Usability and security, as always on Hitachi projectors, feature high on the list of benefits offered by the CP-SX635. These include a new easier to use remote control as well as popular features like input source naming and resolution presets. The new template features allows patterns of lines to be projected onto blackboards and whiteboards to make writing easier. The projector also includes all the security features that make Hitachi projectors among the most secure on the market including a steel security bar, Kensington lock, transition detector pin code protection and the network detach alert. Noise level ratings of 29dB in eco mode belie the whisper quiet operation of the CP-SX635 in day to day operation.

Availability

The Hitachi CP-SX635 is available across Europe at the end of February 2009.
