Toshiba Introduces Three New Projectors for Powerful, Cutting-Edge Presentations

New models provide options for lighter weight, improved wireless connectivity and enhanced multimedia capabilities

Markham, ON (September 8, 2008) – Toshiba of Canada Information Systems Group (Toshiba) today announced the addition of three new projectors to its award winning line up. The TDP-TW420 is Toshiba’s first projector to offer multi-screen functionality. The TDP-T420 features rich multimedia capabilities while the TDP-XP2 offers lightweight and affordable options for vibrant presentations.

“Toshiba continues to be an innovator in the projector industry, providing mobile and high definition projection technology to meet the needs of both PRO AV installation and portable projection,” said Evelyn Chiu, Toshiba product manager for Notebook Accessories and Projectors. “Everyone’s projector needs are different, so we are continuing to build a lineup that meets the demands of today’s presenters.”

All the new models feature DLP BrilliantColor Technology which utilizes a six segment colour wheel capable of producing: red, blue, green, cyan, yellow and magenta which offer accurate and vibrant colours, increasing brightness by 50 per cent.  The result is an exceptionally crisp image with bright, rich colours. Toshiba’s DLP projectors are filter-free. This keeps damaging dust particles from collecting on the projector’s imaging elements, which reduces maintenance costs and so, decreases the user’s total cost of ownership and extends the projector’s lamp life. All three models have an XGA 1024 x 768 resolution and a 2000:1 contrast ratio to deliver bright, captivating images.

TDP-TW420 Wireless Projector
Designed for corporate customers and higher education facilities, the TDP-TW420projector is Toshiba’s first projector to offer multi-screen functionality, which allows users to network up to four projectors from a single computer to create larger images for a variety of venue sizes. Weighing less than ten pounds, the projector packs in 4,000 ANSI lumens, Windows Vista networking capabilities and integrated wireless technology for quick and easy presentation set up. Remote network management and extensive multimedia connectivity are also featured. The projector also offers on-the-go professionals the option to deliver “PC-free” presentations by simply connecting a thumb drive with their JPEG converted PowerPoint presentations into the USB port. MPEG files can also be played through the USB port using the flash drive.

The TDP-TW420 projector can be networked and controlled remotely via a wired LAN connection, which is password protected for increased security. This feature also allows IT administrators to remotely control the projector over a network and receive e-mail notification via SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) relating to temperature, fan and lamp status. The TDP-TW420retails for a suggested list price of $2599.

TDP-T420 Multimedia projector
Weighing less than ten pounds, the high-brightness TDP-T420 projector features 4,000 ANSI lumens. The projector is ideal for presentations in rooms where the lights must be left on for note taking or to accommodate difficult lighting situations. Natural Colour Enhancer4 developed by Toshiba, delivers colour correction circuitry for exceptionally sharp and vivid images that more closely match original presentation colour. The multimedia projector comes with a Blackboard function with wall colour adjustment for a clearer display on non-screen surfaces. In addition, it is HDTV and DTV compatible and features a monitor output connector that allows users to view presentations from an external display. The TDP-T420 is also equipped with convenient lamp access on the top panel for easy replacement even when the unit is ceiling mounted. The TDP-T420 Multimedia projector retails for a suggested list price of $2379.

TDP-XP2 Light weight projector

This projector has an extended lamp life of up to 3,000 hours in standard mode, and 4,000 hours in economy mode. HDTV and DTV connectivity is also available when you plug it into a cable or satellite box. The TDP-XP2 also features 2.0 watt speakers for added convenience.
